Open Access Statement
Society & AI is a fully open-access scholarly publication. All research articles, commentaries, and related materials are made available online immediately upon publication, free of charge to readers and institutions, with no embargo period and no paywall.
In line with the widely recognized principles of open scholarship, including the spirit of the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities (2003), we support the broad circulation and responsible reuse of research for educational and societal benefit. Open dissemination is essential to scholarly integrity, global dialogue, and equitable participation in knowledge production.
All published works on Society & AI are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license unless otherwise specified. Under this license, users may read, download, copy, share, and adapt published material for lawful non-commercial purposes, provided appropriate attribution is given to the author(s) and the source, and any modifications are clearly indicated.
Authors retain copyright in their work. By publishing with Society & AI, authors grant Society & AI the non-exclusive right to publish, archive, and disseminate the work, and to identify itself as the original publisher.
Society & AI does not charge article processing charges (APCs), submission fees, or publication fees. This no-fee model is intentional: it lowers structural barriers to participation and supports contributions from scholars, educators, and practitioners across regions, including low-income and resource-constrained contexts.
We encourage responsible indexing, archiving, and citation of all content to strengthen the long-term accessibility, discoverability, and impact of open scholarship.
