Tamara N. Lewis Arredondo, Ph.D.

Tamara N. Lewis Arredondo, PhD is a Senior Lecturer, Researcher with the Multilevel Regulation research group, and Teacher Trainer at The Hague Center for Teaching and Learning at The Hague University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. Her work sits at the intersection of International Human Rights Law, global citizenship education, and inclusive teaching practices in higher education.

Dr. Lewis focuses on the practical integration of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning, with her scholarship exploring how AI can support meaningful, equitable, and responsible educational practices. Her work has been featured in Opinio Juris and Faculty Focus. She is also a contributor to the Erasmus+ funded METACOG project, an AI literacy initiative aimed at addressing disinformation and strengthening civic engagement and shared values across Europe.

In addition to her research and teaching, Dr. Lewis developed the AI Playground at The Hague University of Applied Sciences — an innovative, hybrid learning environment where lecturers and researchers can explore, experiment with, and critically reflect on the use of AI in education. The Playground is designed to be adaptable, offering multiple formats and entry points tailored to diverse educational contexts and user needs.
