Joan Giovannini, M.Ed.

Joan Giovannini is an Educator, Educational Developer, and Researcher committed to educational equity and strategies of Universal Design for Learning. She specializes in teaching coursework in education policy, inclusionary practice, Universal Design for Learning, and culturally responsive pedagogy. She believes that teaching is most powerful when it’s both reflective and collaborative.

Joan loves partnering with faculty to design courses that are not only grounded in strong pedagogy but also responsive to the diverse needs of today’s students. Her work is shaped by ongoing research in the learning sciences, open educational practices, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), educational technology, and active learning strategies.

At the heart of her approach is a commitment to creating humanized, equitable learning environments, spaces where every student feels seen, supported, and challenged to grow.
