Dr. Torrey Trust is a Professor of Learning Technology in the College of Education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her research and teaching focus on how technology can be used to support and enhance teaching and learning, with particular emphasis on preparing educators to critically and ethically integrate emerging technologies into their practice.

Dr. Trust is a leading voice in the discussion around generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, and their implications for education. She provides resources and guidance for educators on how to thoughtfully leverage these new technologies while maintaining pedagogical integrity. Her research explores several key areas: Open Educational Resources (OER) and their role in making learning more accessible; Professional Learning Networks (PLNs) and how educators use social media and digital tools for professional growth; emerging technologies including makerspaces, 3D printing, and HyperDocs; and remote and online learning, where she gained significant recognition during the COVID-19 pandemic for developing resources to help teachers transition to emergency remote teaching.

Dr. Trust has received numerous awards for her contributions to the field, including the prestigious ISTE Making IT Happen Award, which honors educators and leaders for their commitment to improving digital learning opportunities for students. She is a prolific author with extensive publications and academic citations, demonstrating her significant impact on the field of educational technology.
