Dr. Robert (Bob) W. Maloy is a Senior Lecturer II in the Department of Teacher Education and Curriculum Studies at the UMass Amherst College of Education. A UMass affiliate since 1981, his work centers on how technology can transform learning. Dr. Maloy’s research interests include educational technology, teacher education, and school change. He is actively exploring the impact of Generative AI on education and the corresponding need for “prompt literacy.” He co-directs the TEAMS Tutoring Project, a community-based service-learning program, and is the webmaster for the award-winning resourcesforhistoryteachers wiki. He is also a co-author of several open educational resource (OER) books, including Building Democracy for All and the 2023 MERLOT Classics Award winner, Critical Media Literacy and Civic Learning. He holds an Ed.D. from Boston University.
